When I see your face, I feel so happy. Happy as in my muscles are calm, my eyes brightly glistens, my lips curl up to a beautiful smile, and I let out a little giggle just because you’re always on that smiling streak. And being in your arms is just the BEST thing in the world.
My birthday was filled with such wonderful people. Lots of surprises! I’m usually one to find out what my family plans for surprising me, but I didn’t catch this one. On the 15th, Kelsey and I rode to go to the Karaoke Bar in Hayward. She was hungry so we went to Wing-Stop in Union City. I was pissed off because it was on the other side of the karaoke bar and had the intention that my sister would be mad (she had brought home Wing Fiesta before we left). Once we arrived to Wing-Stop I suggested to her to just call in for pick up while we wait at Starbucks because I wanted a light coffee drink there. I thought Bunce was working, but didn’t see him behind the counter, so I paid full priced for the drink. Later, I hear his jolly voice. Turns out he was working. He asked me if I ever got in trouble. “If you never got in trouble, you never got the teenage experience.” True. I am now an adult. After I got my drink, we went t Wing-Stop to pick up her food. I saw Trinh there! A couple of steps before entering the eatery: “Watch when we see someone we know in there.” I saw my cousin. haha
We left, and boy was the car ride bumpy and sharp. Kelsey received a text message from Anna which said to go to Cloverleaf Bowling in Fremont to pick up my gift. “Can’t I get it on Monday?!” I really didn’t want Kim to yell at me for being late to the karaoke bar. Nonetheless, I didn’t want my friend to wait a long time for me with people she didn’t know much. I told Kelsey to call/text Kim that we’d be late. In the car she told me to check Mapquest. Then Anna texted her phone and she quickly grabbed it away from me saying “Don’t check it!” I had no idea why, maybe it was because I might’ve seen her messages to someone else __. Yeah.
So we continued onto Alvarado Niles. We followed the lady’s directions on Mapquest. Then we reach this town, that I call a “Ghostown.” We didn’t know how to get back onto the main road. The app was weird. Then all of a sudden we hear “Recalculating.” I looked at Kelsey and said, “Kelsey. Did you hear that?” I was freaking out for a split second. Then we made a left at this intersection and saw Mission Blvd. We were on our way to Cloverleaf. Once we reached the place Kelsey called Anna. “Where are you? We’re in the front.” I thought we’d stay in the car and she’d hand me the gift, but we parked and went inside the building. Anna was standing at the doors with nothing in her hands. “It’s over here. Let me get it.” Or I think that’s what she said. Somewhere along those lines. Then all of a sudden I here “Surprise!” It was my family and a few of my friends. They all surprised me at the bowling alley! I seriously thought that the group we were headed to were Anna’s family. We played a few rounds. “Penguin, Wing-Stop, One Leg, and Birthday Qurrrrllll.”I came in last place.
I’m such an old sister. I swear, I almost cried when my brother was filled was smiles as the girl of his dreams said yes to go to a school dance. He’s growing up so much every time I see him. He grows up so much more whenever he’s with her. Those two. (‘:
